The Tons for Tails World Record Pet Food Drive will take place September 22 through September 29, and all proceeds raised and pet food donated will go directly to needy Indianapolis cats and dogs.

Friends of Indianapolis Dogs Outside is a 501(c)3 animal welfare organization that focuses on helping low-income dog owners improve the quality of life for their outside dogs. The Tons For Tails pet food drive directly supports FIDO’s mission by helping cat and dog owners improve the quality of life for their pets. FIDO operates a pet food pantry providing dog and cat food two Saturdays a month.

“We are excited to be taking on such a challenging project.  The stakes are high but so are the rewards,” said Jeni Christoffersen, FIDO. “We look forward to achieving our goal of 10 tons of pet food and to raise awareness for the Indianapolis Pet Food Pantry.”

Together with the support of Pet Supplies Plus, Paw Stop, Sun King Brewing, Deering Cleaners and Indianapolis City-County Councilman At-Large Zach Adamson, FIDO will kick off the Tons For Tails Pet Food Drive September 22 at 2 p.m. at 456 N Holmes Avenue, 46222.
