FIDO and Indianapolis Animal Care & Control have come together to form a pet food pantry. The food pantry will be open every Saturday from 12 noon to 4pm at Indianapolis Animal Care & Control at 2600 S. Harding St., Indianapolis, IN 46221

Depending on the need and the turnout of volunteers the pantry hours may drop back to the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month beginning in March. The food pantry is meant to be for the people of Marion County that are designated low-income. The pantry will require ID and proof of low-income when you arrive (documentation of SSI, WIC, medicaid, food stamps, section 8 housing, unemployment benefits, etc) and you will only be able to obtain pet food once a month. The hope is that the pantry can help supplement the pet food needs and not provide their entire diet. The pet food pantry will provide food for cats and dogs. The pet food pantry will also provide vouchers for a free spay or neuter of the residents pets. If you would like to volunteer for the pet food pantry you may contact Jennifer to sign up. If you have questions about the pet food pantry you may contact us on the FIDO line at 317-592-9616.
