FIDO was approached at the end of April by Emily, a close friend of a couple who recently lost their dog Ike, the handsome boy with a great face in the first photo below. Emily and some additional friends went together and made a generous $1,000 donation to FIDO in memory of Ike.
We talked with Emily and agreed on the idea of putting this thoughtful donation toward funding 2 FIDO fence projects that we’d name for Ike. But this group of friends didn’t stop there, they also wanted to donate their time and volunteer for the fence projects themselves. So they, along with Ike’s owners, Justin and Dana, spent their Sunday morning and early afternoon working to improve the lives of 8 dogs, and their families.
We were blown away by the generosity and kindness of this group of people. Ike’s memory and their love for him will be felt for years to come by the dogs and the people they helped. FIDO is grateful to have been a part of it.
